Motion on Buzwagi Mine ( Mining contract) in 2007. It led to formulation
of new mining policy in 2009 and new mining act in 2010.
2. Private members bill on amending leadership code of ethics in order to manage conflict of interests amongst members. It raised debate and was never allowed into the floor of the house. 2008 and 2009
3. Richmond Energy $172m scandal that lead to the fall of Prime Minister Edward Lowasa. Participated with other Members of Parliament and made an intervention in Bunge reminding the house about the constitution that once the PM falls the whole government go. It did. 2008
4. Instrumental on EPA scandal ( $133m stolen from Bank of Tanzania ). Investigation report was leaked to me and I gave it to Dr. Slaa to lead the fight as I was firmly on mining reforms agenda. 2007
5. In 2011 I led a campaign to fight against Members of Parliament be given sitting allowances. I gave up receiving sitting allowances since June 8th, 2011.
6. I moved a motion to revive sisal industry in the country as part of wider response to sluggish growth in agricultural sector causing more poverty. It was not passed
7. In 2012 after Auditor General Report that showed massive mismanagement of public funds, I led members of parliament from all parties to call on vote on no confidence to PM if the President will not sack Ministers accused. 8 Ministers were sacked
8. In 2012 I moved amendments to change our income tax act and re introduce capital gains tax for sale of assets in Tanzania by multi nationals. It has generated more than 500m USD to the country since ( sale of BP, sale of Ophir, sale of Mkuju Uranium project).
9. In 2012 I moved a motion in parliament that was passed and call for investigation on illicit financial flows from Tanzania ( swiss billions). I named 99 Tanzanians with secret accounts at HSBC bank, Geneva Branch.
10. In 2013 I called for auditing of political parties finances and followed it through till it was done. For the first time since multi party system started, all parties were audited and audit made public
11. In 2014 Escrow scandal: PAC directed a special audit on the Tegeta Escrow Account by CAG in March 2014, processed the report in November 2014 and led a parliamentary debate that formed 8 resolutions. Some people were held to account and for the first time in history Ethics Tribunal performed its duty.
12. Through PAC I called for transparency of Oil and Gas contracts. After protracted struggle which included arrest of TPDC officials, contracts have atleast been delivered to Clerk of National Assembly for Parliamentarians to access
13. Lead a campaign for Parliament to amend laws to enable artists benefit from Ring Back Tones business. COSOTA act was amended and Excise act amended to formalize the work of artists ( CDs, DVDs VCDs etc)
14. Ammended tax laws to protect milk processing sector in the country
15. Called for govt to use EFDs in their receipts of non tax revenues
16. Introduced Audit of tax exemptions, making exemptions public and audited report of the latter public. PAC presented a report on Tax Exemptions Audit in Parliament, first time ever.
